In anticipation of the return of our cine film images on DVD we went out and
bought a DVD player. This morning I was dismayed to have delivered what
appeared to be - a DVD player! In answer to my wife's question - No, I
hadn't ordered another one. Imagine our delight when the contents turned
out to be all our cine films plus the DVD and Video which you had created
We hastily connected up our new player and quickly found out how to use it -
not too difficult a job.
We were delighted with the results. To be able to watch those scenes from
some forty years ago without all the attendant hassle with the projector and
its concommitant rattling noise, the constant rewinding and re-threading of
film and the constant worry that we might damage this unique memory beyond
retrieval. Just sit back and watch our babies with the vastly better
background sounds of soft, unobtrusive but evocative music. We can't thank
We also appreciated the hand-written PS on your covering letter. A merry
Christmas, too, to you and yours and may the New Year bring you happiness,
peace and prosperity.
Pam and Bob Barker (Mr. R.A.Barker)
This is a reproduction of a hand-written letter -the original is here for inspection if required:
FROM Merlin Crescent, Edgware, Middlesex. - Received 5th April 2005
Received the VHS tape of the 8mm cine films which I sent to you.
May I and my wife, Jean, daughter Susan and sons Bob, Stephen, Mark & Matthew, thank you and Emily for the superb transfer of these
treasured memories on to video tape. It was about 26 minutes of sheer pleasure and the musical score which you added was my all time
favourites, and when I showed the video to some of of my grandchildren and told them that the children in the video were their fathers
when they were children. Paige, Lillian and Jack, the children of my youngest son Matthew - 40 years in July '05 and my second youngest
grandchildren could not make it out that Matthew, then aged about two and a half could be their father!
Well Cliff, you certainly made my day-worth every penny.
Therefore I am sending an order for 5 DVDs of the same tape.
Thanks for the memory-where did it all go?
FOOTNOTE from Cliff: "One of the nicest I have ever received - sums up what we are all about -and we are very proud to receive letters like this one."

This is a Big Thank You for the cine-to-DVD received today - to say that I am as excited as a 7-year old on Christmas Day
is an understatement!! I have worked in printing all my life, so "image quality" to me is paramount. Your production is
way beyond the quality I had hoped for.
I do have my own "horror story" for you. I originally took this film to my local (well-respected)photo store who offer such
a service - albeit sub-contracted by hand. The result was as per your handout notes - flickery, out of focus and dark around the
edges, not to mention dirty marks. In fact, the person concerned actually wrote on the invoice that my film had focus problems throughout!
You have proved him wrong, and I received a refund. In the not too distant future, I will contact you again to make an appointment to
deliver a few more 400ft reels by hand.
Thanks once again for a superb job!

Once again, many thanks indeed for the excellent quality of all the DVDs collected from you yesterday -
they really are remarkable quality. I have wanted to get the films "preserved" in some way for many years, but
decided to hold on until technology improved. I'm delighted that I have found you at just the right time!

I will mention your services in their Bulletins.
